When I first launched Notary Star's in 2019 it was personal mission to expand training for Signing Agents to benefit my own Signing Service, Unlimited Ink Notary. There was only one in-depth training course available at the time, which was Notary2Pro, and although I really encouraged Notaries to take the course, I saw a need for more training as my Signing Service grew larger.
The first few years of Notary Stars I actually aided in training Notaries, spear heading quarterly Boot Camps, but as Unlimited Ink Notary grew my role evolved. Unlimited Ink's client list literally Skyrocketed to over 450+ Title Agencies, Attorneys, and the General Public turning to us for Notaries as I built a Notary Signing Agency & Network like no other - and thus, here we are today.
Although I am still extremely active in day-to-day operations at both Notary Stars and Unlimited Ink Notary, I spend a great deal of my time teaching the next generation of Notaries and Signing Service owners exactly how I brought in this level of clientele and revenue through marketing.

I grew my Notary Business out of necessity. It wasn't the need for money it was because shortly after I started dabbling in the Notary Industry, I was seriously injured (hit by a car that damaged my spine). I absolutely had to grow my Notary business to this scale as there were very few jobs that I could do. Success was my only option.
My First & Second Venture into Marketing My Notary Business
Please do not let my AI enhanced photos fool you. I'm of a certain age (and proud of it). I say that because I'm about to give away my first disastrous experience marketing a Notary Business in my younger years which will give away my age. If you're younger you may not have heard of this but people, my age and older knew all about the YELLOW PAGES. Not the website, the actual Yellow Pages.
They must have seen me coming a mile away. And, at the time I didn't know anything about marketing a Notary Business and since this was the only thing I knew about marketing growing up, I took out a $1900 add in the Yellow Pages. This was around 2013-2014 and people were already starting to search more online for the services they needed. I didn't get one single call and blew my first year's marketing budget, majorly.
Now at the time there were only a few Signing Services in operation and most business was direct. However, I was getting most of my work from one particular company in Los Angeles. They kept me running all over LA, every day and the money was great. Well, the money I collected was great. I literally had to drive to the owner's home every Friday before 5 pm (over 1.5 hours away in traffic) to give her 60% off the funds I'd collected for doing 100% of the work. I was very appreciative of the work, but I really needed to make more money if I was going to do all of the work. I spent hours going over my website over and over again. I don't even think Google Business was as important as it is today.
I knew I had to do something, so I sat down and created my first website on WIX.com. Within a few days I started getting calls, but they weren't enough to pay the rent at the time. I kept looking at that company's website thinking mine was so much prettier and I couldn't understand why anyone was choosing theirs over mine. And that's when I realized that their website was getting found- mine was not. Thus, my obsession with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) began.
I Got Politely "Let Go" for Being Too Good at Competing. And I LOVED It!
I remember the first time I Googled, "What makes a website work?" I started reading all of these tips and tricks to rank and come up on page one. Within weeks I got a phone call from the company that gave me the most work and they said, "We really love working with you, but we think you are more of a competitor now." They specifically mentioned my website stating that they know they were losing business to me, and they were right. I was actually turning down their orders to service my very own clients and keeping 100% of the fee. I loved it.
And, yes it was scary knowing I was going to have to keep that up from then on because there would be no one else to blame if I failed. But here I am today, offering everything I've ever learned (and more) to my fellow Notaries.
